You know the way we said we were going to chill out for our last few days before we haded off to Bali - that was a lie.
Shirley landed back in town (school friend of mine) so had to go meet up with her, Decided to meet up with her in Rosies along with miss frawley who joined us later on. This then turned into one of those weekends that passed in a bit of a blur! Shirley persuaded us to go stay with her the next night.... but the hostel wouldn't give us back our money so decided to stay put.... until we ended up drinking and having major battles on the wii til the wee hours of the morning! we were supposed to fly out that morning so shirley dragged us out of her spare room and off to the hostel to pick up our bags then back to her spare room and back to bed before she dropped us to the airport in seriously bad shape! but at least we made it there :) cheers shirley!

So in the airport in bad state.... the flight was delayed not once but twice!! painful as perth airport is soooooo small!!!
Landed in bali in the middle of the night, knew straight away we were back in asia from the reception of the haggling taxi drivers at the aiport and of course the smells!!!!straight to bed for us!
Staying the Dewi Sri resort.... came as part of our package. It is right beside the Bali bombing memorial, Really nice place but bit expensive as everything has a service charge. So nice to be back to getting value for our backpackers monnies! Spent the next few days exploring the street and relaxing by the pool oh and getting our comlimetary full body massages :) Eventually found poppies lane 1 took us forever as it is the tiniest laneway where all the cheaper restaraunts and accomodation is located. of course we found the most expensive restaraunt by the beach on our first outing! It was still under $40!
Booked ourselves on a catamaran sailing trip for one of the days, headed off to Lembongan island for day. basically involved sitting on a beautiul catamaran for about 2 hours admiring the scenery and the getting off for some snorkelling and a trip on a glass bottom boat. Included dinner in the paradise resort with people singing at us!!! Met a lovely couple on this trip from Holland Saunder and Xioq who were on honeymooon. Spent the next 2 days with these guys Denis and Saunder learning to surf while me and Xioq took pictures and laughed! Denis thought that surfing on kuta beach at sunset was pretty amazing even if it is shark feeding time :)
Moved to new resort called New Arena that was half the price for the same thing! except for the swim upto cocktail bar ....sweet!!!
The next 2 week flew by, we spent our days on the beach .... oh and avoiding the tout on the way to the beach that was giving away lottery tickets...too good to be true....yes! of course everybody wins! he just wants you to go off in the taxi with them to be conned into some timeshare agreement! sounded convincing at the time thanks to our previous experiences of asia we knew better... funny enough the guy that was giving away the prizes ddint want to keep them for himself :) chancer!!! and on the beach kids coming up taking our pictures because we were the whitest people they could find until new people arrived and we could feel sorry for them being surrounded with school kids....Spent our nights wandering from cheap restarant to another one... spending $10 oz on food and drink, generally living it up. Went out to bars on the main street a few times... manly to see local rock bands in Espresso and not to forget the 5 piece band of locals that played a mixture of the beach boys kokomo girl to muse's black holes and revelevants on bongos and banjos! classic! Few great nights out chatting to other backpackers and locals! even almost got persuaded to staying longer to go with them to the Gilli Islands! Also in our last few days found loads of great bargains in the shops and sent large package home wrapped in spud bags and bailing twine.... hope it gets through irish customs!!!! :) Got a few massages in too, Denis decided on a reflexology one while i went for the softer foot massage... He could barely walk after it ankles shins and calfs all bruised the next day!!!

On our last night treated ourseleved to yummy dinner in Havanas cuban restarant hmmm chilli poppers ( extra hot small chilli's stuffed with cheese--HOT) and cocktails to wash them down with! great fun!

All in all Bali was a great wee holiday from a holiday, something new and differant every day!I could write for ages more about the sunsets and the size of the waves and the surfing but dont want to rub it in too much defo a must for everyones list! we were actually very very sad to be leaving and going back to expensive Oz :(
